My latest re-design or up-cycled design was crafted together with the lovely, Jasmine. She had a pair of beautiful rose shape conch flower earrings that she wanted to redesign.

At first all I knew was Jasmine wanted to add a classic round conch shell bead to a pair of sterling conch earrings.  I had no idea the FUN that was in store that Saturday afternoon.

When I saw these gorgeously carved conch shell roses she wanted removed from the earrings, my first inclination was these little treasures MUST be crafted into something better than ever!!

… what about a simple pendant? 

… what about this, what about that?

… then Jasmine, says “how about a ZEN Wrap”?

… DING DING DING!!! That was it.  Off we went on a custom design.

She instantly knew she wanted an OM charm on there, a strong representation of serenity and grace. Conch symbolizes clarity and growth in new endeavors.  Finally, we added the ultimate feminine gem, iridescent rainbow Moonstone.

This wrap embodies the true essence of Jasmine, her name is a flower, she loves flowers and now she has redesigned her beautiful rose conch earrings into a true treasure that is one-of-a-kind and 100% unique.

I thank my co-designer and creative visionary for this experience.  I absolutely love one-on-one work and designing with my clients.

Happy Sunday... Happy Full Super Moon ~ Let's celebrate with a Tea Time Trunk Show!

Did you see the moon last night?  WOW.  I watched it rise over on the beach with my hubby, it was so peaceful, yet powerful.  I love the moon and the cycles it's a constant earthly reminder to let go and bring in.  I practice releasing anything that does not serve me at the Full Moon, this gives space for bringing all that is of my highest and best good, i.e. receiving at the New Moon.

So with this Full Moon and all the special energy, I am so excited to be participating in this conscious women's event where we will be sharing stories and our creations today!

April First Friday - Full Moon Fun @ Kate’s Art Studio Open House

In the company of both locals and visitors alike, I spent my full moon Friday evening in a bohemian style art studio in an old carriage house. This studio is truly a hidden piece of Key West history. Many old and new friends came out to mingle with us at the studio.

Being the fortunate guest artist at Kate’s Art Studio Open House, ZEN by Karen Moore jewelry was showcased alongside Kate Peachey’s latest paintings. 


"Pretty in Pink" Conch collection and the versatile ZEN Wrap® with 14kt gold-filled hardware were the evening favorites.   





Gold is a great accent material for the Spring, it has a striking look that instantly gives that sense of richness and warmth.

ZEN Fun and More @ Shakti Yoga Open House Party

March 30 & 31, 2012

Shakti Yoga Studio was the perfect backdrop for creative souls to share.  The tangerine walls in this studio evoke that second chakra creative energy all the way.  Shakti instructor, Karl was sharing inversion techniques with guests and helping release the stress of the week for those daring enough to take the wall of fun (that is my terminology for these funky inversions).

Ocean treasures were the weekend ZEN by Karen Moore favorites.   ‘Pretty in Pink’ Conch Shell collection and the ‘Fossilized Coral’ were the popular  selections, very fitting as we are surrounded by these elements in our daily lives here in the Keys.  What a treat to share a little ZEN and gem fun with all our guests and the other artists.

Liz Plambeck shared her Universal Pants clothing collection.  This is such a fun, comfortable stylish line of clothing.  It’s so much more than pants.  I bought a great pair of black linen pants that will be part of my staple spring collection.  I have my eyes on a unique dress (see below) and a free-style skirt in natural linen color.  Here I am, modeling that beautiful dress, easy to go from comfy day to out for the night with this design.

Popular Keys Artist, Marlene Koenig, was sharing her creative karma collection.  These all evoke such a happy, fun, free feeling! Check out her website

Music by a beautifully gifted musician filled the studio; acoustic guitar and just her voice…. (I hate to admit it but don’t have her full name, first name pretty sure was 'Leah') 

Locally crafted bags, Sack-of-Thread Designs, by Jessi were on display creating a colorful corner.  Check out the yoga mat bags on sale at Shakti, the bright colors and patterns just make you smile!

Saturday afternoon was beautiful day, almost relaxing as Liz and I shared our treasures with sweet spirit-filled women.  Loved it all.

ZKM @ Key West's McKee Artists Fund Auction

January 28, 2012: My husband, Clint, and I spent the night under the stars working at the McKee Artist Fund Auction in Key West. A first year volunteer, I was bestowed the duty of being a lovely 'Vanna', working along side veteran Vanna's displaying the art to the lucky bidders that night. The yearly event was held at the historic, and some may say haunted, East Martello Museum, on the Atlantic ocean in Key West. The auction celebration was held in the garden area in the center of the fort and was packed with close to 300 guests and volunteers.  

Over 70 creations were auctioned off. Artists each receive 50% of the proceeds and the rest of the money raised goes directly back to local Keys artists in the form of grants.  


My auctioned creation was handcrafted with deep blue lapis lazuli, accented with beige fossilized coral, golden citrine and channeled serenity & abundance. The gold collection consisted of a unique long ZEN wrap® necklace, a pendant and two bracelets. To view this set of zen treasures click here ~ it's the center picture on the home page.

A soul sister friend, Cat Stevenson, made a custom order at a December trunk show in Arizona. Eagerly, I came back home to the Keys and completed the Amethyst & Moonstone set. I sent them off cleansed with Reiki energy and ready for Cat to enjoy.

She quickly found that her new treasures were no ordinary jewelry, but rather, powerful energetic accessories. In her words, "...there was this very high vibration of energy", she went on to get lots done that day, "...with a high degree of clarity". New to the feeling the gems gave her she asked her close, like-minded friends what they thought of crystals and gemstones. Many use them to set intentions, remind them of a mantra or help with a specific purpose... here the zen connection to Tina Su was born.

Tina is an author and the creator of Think Simple Now. She heard about ZKM jewelry, after Cat's unsuspecting discovery of the energy potential gemstones can bring to a person.

The article talks about setting a theme type goal for 2012 and not stressing about so many tiny action-orientated goals that overwhelm us. Her article goes on to talk about symbolic reminders of this theme, i.e. a piece of jewelry.

I'll warn you, the article is a few pages long, but most importantly, totally worthwhile. Grab a cup of tea and allow yourself some time to read it in peace and soak up the wise advice.

For me, this article is a big deal as I continue to put out the positive vibe for ZKM growth this year. Having someone mention little me and knowing thousands of like-minded people will see it makes me a happy and proud girl.

My theme this year is balance in health, relationships, work, home, adventure, etc. I'm going to use Amethyst and Moonstone for my reminder jewels.
