WOW -- A Touching Gift was in my Mailbox Last Night...

Look what Shannon from 'One World One Canvas' brought back for ZKM from HAITI.

This past week a group representing One World One Canvas from Key West high school was in Croix-des-Bouquets helping a neighborhood by donating necessities to them, holding art workshops, exploring & learning about Haiti and the culture there too.


You see, I just met Shannon and told her how lately I've been drawn to earthy elements, so these will definitely be fun to create with...coconut, wood, coffee beans, shell - YEAH!

So I'll let you into the crazy Karen creative brain, so many ideas - all the time.  One idea I had years ago (and have chatted with a few special friends abouts) keeps coming back to me -- Create ZKM jewelry with a PURPOSE.  

This gift has just reminded me to nurture that seed within my soul.  Sharing my gift and sharing with others in a way to raise awareness around the good in the world, the things that touch our hearts and souls -- Art, Nature, Children, Exploring Places, New Cultures...you get it

So watch for a special OWOC collection created with these Haitian elements -- it will be filled with the beauty and energy in which they were gifted to me. Sounds like a fun late Spring Project for ZKM or maybe sooner who knows.

And the fun part...a portion of the proceeds will go right back to the cause that OWOC promotes: "...unite cultures through the language of art!"
